MILWAUKEE (AP) — Wisconsin Republican Gov. Scott Walker is getting a little help paying off his massive presidential campaign debt from a former rival — Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
Cruz this week tweeted his followers asking for contributions to help Walker retire debt left over when he abruptly ended his campaign in September. Walker last month estimated it at around $1 million.
Walker said Tuesday he appreciates Cruz's support, but he stopped short of endorsing Cruz for the GOP nomination.
Walker said none of his other rivals had offered such specific help.
