SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Republican presidential candidate John Kasich is scheduled to tour Salt Lake City's Welfare Square during an upcoming fundraising stop in Utah.

The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/1ZaofZP ) that Kasich spokesman Rob Nichols says the Ohio governor is scheduled to tour the site on Wednesday afternoon. Utah Gov. Gary Herbert is also scheduled to attend the tour.

The Welfare Square is owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Kasich has visited Utah at least twice this year, including in January, when he urged legislative leaders to support a resolution calling for a constitutional convention of the states.

Kasich will be included in the prime-time CNN debate in Las Vegas on Tuesday. He has a good showing in New Hampshire polls but he is lagging behind GOP front-runners nationally.
