GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Packers have signed defensive lineman Mike Daniels to a contract extension, keeping one of the top potential free agents off the open market this offseason.
A person familiar with the deal said Monday said the extension was worth $42 million over four years. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team has not released contract details. ESPN.com first reported financial terms.
Daniels was drafted in the fourth round in 2012 out of Iowa. He's a high-energy player who has started every game since the start of the 2014 season.
Daniels this year has 56 tackles, four sacks and a forced fumble. He is second on the team with 12 quarterback hits and 19 pressures.
