MIDVALE — A man who prosecutors say lit his own house on fire was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Friday.

On Nov. 11, Christopher Wendall Jensen, 51, of Midvale, walked into the dining room of his house, 8038 S. Main, carrying a cardboard box that was on fire, according charging documents filed in 3rd District Court. Jensen dropped the box next to a set of curtains and then grabbed pizza boxes from the dining room table and threw them on the fire, the charges state.

Damage to the house was "extensive," according to authorities.

Unified police said Jensen was combative when they arrived. It took three officers and a Taser to get him into handcuffs.

On Dec. 4, Jensen was charged with aggravated arson, a first-degree felony, and interfering with an arresting officer, a class B misdemeanor. A $75,000 warrant was issued for his arrest.
