HURRICANE, Utah (AP) — The two people killed earlier in a small plane crash in southern Utah earlier this week have been identified as a Hurricane couple. Police confirmed the IDs yesterday of 56-year-old Shawn Ackerman and 49-year-old Bonnie Ackerman. Buell says the National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah's department of transportation plans to spend $1.5 million repairing part of a state route closed since July. The Deseret News reports officials approved the funding Friday for a project estimated to cost upward of $3 million. Detours have been in place since July when State Route 45 south of Vernal was closed after transportation department inspection crews were notified about severe road base erosion.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The case could be dismissed against a man who was shot by police during a domestic violence dispute. The Salt Lake Tribune reports Ivan Clarence Kaumans entered guilty pleas to two counts of aggravated assault on Thursday. He has 36 months to obtain mental health and substance abuse evaluations and complete the treatment that is recommended in order for his case to be dismissed. Kaumans was released Thursday after spending 69 days in jail.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Uber is coming to Ogden. The Salt Lake Tribune reports the ride-hailing company mentioned the expansion on its Utah-specific Twitter account on Friday. It's expected to happen in the coming week.

Uber also has launched a first-in-the-nation service, called uberSKI, in Utah. It offers rides in cars that have all-wheel drive and the ability to carry skis and snowboards.
