ABILENE, Texas (AP) — Jaylen Franklin had 14 points, six rebounds and seven assists, and Abilene Christian shot nearly 60 percent in the first half to cruise to a 69-46 victory over Division III Schreiner on Saturday.
Abilene Christian (4-5) made its first five field goal attempts and 9 of 13 to take a 21-4 lead less than 10 minutes into the game. Schreiner started 2 of 3 but missed its next nine shots.
Franklin finished 7 of 9 from the field as Abilene Christian made 16 of 27 shots before the break. Parker Wentz made 4 of 6 3-pointers and scored 12 points, including a 3-for-3 second half from beyond the arc.
Phillip Kee and Wes Miller both had eight points for Schreiner, which shot just 30.4 percent from the field and trailed by as many as 31 points.
