MOAB — The brother of reality TV star Kristin Cavallari and brother-in-law of NFL quarterback Jay Cutler was found dead Thursday. He had been missing since his abandoned vehicle was found in Utah on Nov. 27.

The body of Michael Cavallari, 30, of San Clemente, California, was discovered by Utah search crews about 10:30 a.m. in the Salt Wash area near I-70, according to the Grand County Sheriff's Office.

"The terrain where the body was located is a steep and very rocky area," the sheriff's office said in a prepared statement.

The body was taken to the Utah State Medical Examiner's Office to make positive identification and determine a cause of death.

Cavallari's abandoned vehicle was found Nov. 27 near Floy Wash Road off I-70. The vehicle was found running and the air bag deployed. Cavallari's laptop and cellphone were also found inside, according to police.

"Credit card transaction receipts also led investigators to a convenience store in Monticello, Utah. Upon reviewing the security footage from the convenience store, the driver of the vehicle was positively identified as Michael Cavallari," the sheriff's office stated.
