GLASSBORO, N.J. (AP) — Officials at a southern New Jersey university say swastikas and other anti-Semitic markings were carved into the doors of a residence hall.
An alert sent over the weekend to students said administrators at Rowan University's Glassboro campus were told about the markings in Chestnut Hall on Thursday. The doors have since been sanded and repaired.
The university's dean of students says a floor meeting was held to inform dorm residents of the incident and allow them to express their opinions.
A Rowan spokesman says the markings were inside a suite and that none of the students living in the dorm identify as Jewish.
Authorities are investigating the incident.
Swastikas were previously drawn in chalk on a sidewalk at the school during the last school year.
