NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (AP) — A suburban New York school founded as a women's college in 1904 will go coed next fall.
The College of New Rochelle announced Tuesday that its board of trustees has voted unanimously to admit men.
The decision affects the college's School of Arts and Sciences.
Its three other schools are already coed. They are the graduate school, the nursing school and the School of New Resources, which serves adult learners.
Board Chairwoman Elizabeth LeVaca says trustees are excited about the future for both the School of Arts and Sciences and the college as a whole.
The College of New Rochelle is in Westchester County north of New York City. It was founded by the Ursuline order of Roman Catholic nuns.
