NEW ORLEANS (AP)— The Carolina Panthers are 12-0, but it took a lot of work. Cam Newton, who was 28 of 41 for 331 yards, tossed five TD passes and twice had to lead the Panthers back from fourth-quarter deficits as the New Orleans Saints suffered their fourth straight loss 41-38 to fall to 4-8.
GRAPEVINE, Texas (AP)— Top-ranked Clemson will face No. 4 Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl while in the Cotton Bowl second-ranked Alabama will go against No. 3 Michigan State in the national semifinals of the College Football Playoff on New Year's Eve. The national championship game is set for Monday, Jan. 11 in Glendale, Arizona.
UNDATED (AP)— The final regular season college Associated Press pool reflects the sentiment of the College Football Playoff selection committee. Clemson garnered 59 first-place votes and is a nearly unanimous No. 1 with Alabama getting nine first place votes, third-ranked Michigan State getting one and Oklahoma snaring the fourth spot in the AP poll.
NEW YORK (AP)— The NBA champion Golden State Warriors are now 22-0 with a 26-game winning streak dating back to last season. The Warriors drubbed Brooklyn 114-98, dropping the Nets to 5-15. Stephen (STEH'-fihn) Curry led the Warriors with 24.
