PERRY, Box Elder County — An Idaho man died after an SUV crashed into the back of his car in traffic Friday, investigators said.
Jesse McKenney, 43, was driving a Ford Focus on I-15 and slowed for traffic due to two minor accidents in the southbound lanes near the Perry rest area, the Utah Highway Patrol said Saturday. Investigators said traffic had come to a stop when a woman driving a black 2008 Ford Expedition drove up behind McKenney at about 3:55 p.m.
"The Expedition changed lanes and failed to notice the stopped traffic," UHP said in a statement. "The SUV ran into the rear of the Ford Focus at near freeway speeds. The Ford Focus was pushed into the median."

The Expedition also crashed into the back of a gray Ford Fusion, according to investigators.
McKenney was transported to the McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, where he died from his injuries later that night. He was a resident of Victor, Idaho.
The woman who was driving the Expedition was transported to the Brigham hospital with her three children. They did not have life threatening injuries, according to investigator. The driver of the Ford Fusion was evaluated and released on scene.
