(KSL News) A man with Utah ties was killed in a plane crash in Alaska. The small float plane crashed yesterday afternoon in the small town of Tyonek, about 100 miles from Anchorage.
The pilot, 60-year-old Thomas Iversen, and two passengers died in the crash.
Iverson had a home in Sandy and spent many summers in Alaska. He also worked for many years as an air traffic controller at the Salt Lake International Airport.
Iverson was an experience pilot and owned the plane he was flying. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
