SPANISH FORK, Utah (AP) -- A new courthouse in Spanish Fork is nearly ready to open its doors.
The 4th District Court has operated for years in a single room in a city office building. The cramped quarters have often meant that defendants had to be led through the general seating area.
The new courthouse will be bigger and include a juvenile court, a holding facility for inmates and room for the Spanish Fork Police Department.
The building has been under construction for 15 months. City and state officials expect it to open Sept. 8.
