NEW YORK (AP) — Some beloved creatures by children's' book author Eric Carle — including a certain hungry caterpillar — are headed to a New York stage next year.

Jonathan Rockefeller's "The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show" will make its U.S. premiere with 75 puppets acting out four Carle books — "The Artist Who Painted a Blue Horse," ''Mister Seahorse," ''The Very Lonely Firefly" and "The Very Hungry Caterpillar."

Performances begin Jan. 30 at the 47th Street Theatre. The show is targeted at children from ages 3-7. Tickets are $49.50 -$65.50.

The show debuted at the Sydney Festival in Australia in January.

Rockefeller is a co-founder of Rockefeller Productions, a company that combines film, theatre, animation, puppetry and television. He also co-wrote and produced the puppet-parody "Thank You for Being a Friend."
