TAYLORSVILLE — Police arrested a man who they say ran a red light and crashed into another car in Taylorsville while fleeing officers.
West Valley City police received a call around 4:30 a.m. about a suspicious vehicle, according to Lt. Mike Christenson of the West Valley City Police Department. When officers arrived, the car was on a curb, still running.

As police opened the door to talk with the driver, who appeared to be asleep and possibly under the influence, he put the car in gear and drove away, Christenson said.
The fleeing vehicle ran a red light at 4700 South and 3200 West and smashed into another car, according to Christenson. No one was seriously injured. The driver then took off running.
