4-year-old dies days after car crash

TAYLORSVILLE — A 4-year-old girl who was hospitalized in extremely critical condition after a recent car crash died sometime overnight before Friday morning, police said.

The girl's mother was driving a Chrysler 300 on Nov. 7 when she appeared to drift into oncoming traffic near 1350 W. 5400 South, according to the Unified Police Department. Investigators said the 31-year-old woman and her two children were injured after their vehicle collided with a truck head on.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Police previously said that impairment did not appear play a role in the crash.
