SALT LAKE CITY — BYU fans celebrated another bowl-eligible season this weekend, while Utah and Utah State fans were left shocked and dismayed by a pair of losses in Southern California. Hans Olsen and Christian Cox from 1280 The Zone joined SportsBeat to break it all down.

It was good news for Utah in the first quarter of its 42-24 loss at USC that sent it tumbling to No. 13 in the latest AP poll.

Earlier in the day, BYU downed a winless FCS opponent 70-6 to reach the six-win, bowl-eligible plateu for the 11th-straight year. Tanner Mangum was nearly perfectly, and Beau Hoge emerged as a potential dual-threat quarterback. The Cougars may have found a kick returner in Michael Shelton.

In San Diego on Friday night, Donnell Pumphrey and the Aztecs ran all over the Aggies for a 48-14 win that likely put away any hopes of a New Year's Six bowl game.
