SAN DIEGO (AP) — Donnel Pumphrey rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns, and San Diego State scored on six straight drives in the first half to cruise to a 48-14 victory over Utah State on Friday night.
Pumphrey had rushing touchdowns of 4 and 62 yards in the second quarter to help San Diego State build a 34-7 lead at halftime.
Chase Price added 97 yards on the ground and one touchdown for San Diego State (5-3, 4-0 Mountain West). The Aztecs have started league play with four straight wins for the first time since 1998.
San Diego State opened the scoring on Maxwell Smith's 18-yard touchdown pass to Mikah Holder. Two plays later, Alex Barrett forced a fumble by Kent Myers and Smith finished a short drive with a 1-yard sneak.
Myers had 93 yards passing with one touchdown and one interception for Utah State (4-3, 3-1). The Aggies turned it over four times.
