ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — More men are being drawn to yoga classes especially designed just for them called "Broga," including at a studio in St. George where men looking for a different type of workout gather.
The Spectrum newspaper in St. George reports that the classes focus more on the exercise and strength side of yoga, instead of the mystical aspect of the discipline.
Most of the men in a class say they are novices and were lured by the idea of being able to practice yoga without the pressure of having women around.
Instructor Wade Knight tells them to speak up if they need help and tells them to mimic him.
John Rowley, a wellness director at the International Sports Science Association, says participation in the classes are growing exponentially across the country.
