Learning how to code is becoming more and more common inside classrooms. And it's growing more and more important in today's world. The STEM Action Center, the Utah State Office of Education and Code.org have teamed up to provide training and professional development to educators interested in computer science. This can greatly help help those students in the classroom better learn computer coding.

Sarah Young, a STEM Liason with the Utah State Office of Education tells us that Code.org is a non-profit dedicated to expanding computer science education by making it more widely available. Especially for women and minorities.

The partnership begins in November 2015 with a call across the state for applications for current teachers who are interested in being trained in computer science. The students at those schools will then have increased access to computer science courses, curriculum, and resources.

Also, in the second week of December, there's an event known as "Hour of Code". It's a great way to get your school, or your family involved in learning more about computer science.

You can find out more about all of this through Code.org.
