SALT LAKE CITY — Each Wednesday the Best Friend's Animals Society comes to KSL-TV's studios to feature a pet that needs a home.

Cooper is a 3-year-old miniature pinscher who "appears to be purebred" and likes other dogs, according to Temma Martin from the Best Friend's Animal Society.

"He seems to be friendly with everyone, and he's active and energetic, which is typical of this breed," Martin said.

If you decide to adopt Cooper, don't forget to show him off this Saturday at the 20th annual Strut Your Mutt event.

It's a fundraiser for Best Friends Animal Society and their network partners. The event includes a 5K walk-run, a pet costume contest, a owner-dog look-alike contest, and more.

Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. in Liberty Park, 700 E. 900 South, on Oct. 24. and the festival ends at 2.

"Adoption events make me happy, because we see animals get adopted, but I love Strut Your Mutt because these are all owned animals," Martin said. "They're all with their people, and it's so much fun to see all those happy dogs."

Last year's event boasted 2,400 human participants and 1,600 dogs strutting their stuff.
