NEPHI — Firefighters are battling a new wildfire that sparked just east of Nephi in Juab County on Friday afternoon.
According to Utah Fire Info, what's being referred to as the Hop Fire has grown from an estimated 20 to 25 acres to 50 acres so far in Salt Creek Canyon near state Route 132.

Now ~50 acres and actively running. Burning at 7,400 ft in steep terrain, crews are having difficulty accessing the area safely.
No homes or structures are threatened, with no values at risk for several miles.

The fire is actively burning at about 7,400 feet in steep terrain, making it difficult for crews to safely access it, Utah Fire Info said.
However, at this time, no homes or structures are threatened for several miles.
Officials believe the fire is human-caused, and the public is urged to avoid the area.
