(KSL News) A company putting on a fireworks display in Magna was responsible for a field fire, but it wasn't necessarily negligent.
The Deseret News reports Unified Fire Authority found that spent shells from the fireworks display at Magna Park Friday caused the fire that started in a nearby field, but that the fireworks weren't put there intentionally. Instead it appears they were blown there by high winds in the area.
The fire, near 8400 West and state Route 201, caused $250,000 in damages. No homes were burned though several small sheds and power poles were destroyed.
