Utah moves to No. 3 in latest AP Poll

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah had a 20-point fourth-quarter rally to beat the Arizona State Sun Devils Saturday to remain undefeated. The win snapped a near 40-year streak against the Sun Devils, made Utah bowl eligible and helped their case again in the national rankings as Utah moved up in the polls.

Utah moved up to No. 3 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll and stayed at No. 7 in the Amway USA Today Coaches Poll for the third straight week. Utah was previously ranked No. 4 in the AP Poll.

Utah received 16 first-place votes in the AP Poll for the second week in a row, which is second only to Ohio State who received 28 first-place votes.

Utah dropped to No. 3 in ESPN's power rankings, which were released Sunday, and stayed at No. 4 in the FWAA-FWW Super 16 Poll. Utah received five first-place votes, dropping one vote from last week. Utah was previously No. 1 in the power rankings the last two weeks.

The Pac-12 had three teams ranked in the Top 25, with Utah remaining at the top, followed by Stanford (No. 10/11) and Cal (No. 20/19). UCLA dropped from the polls after losing last week to Stanford. UCLA, Oregon and Washington State received votes in the Coaches Poll.

Ohio State remains the No. 1 team in the country with 28 first-place votes. The Buckeyes are followed by No. 2 Baylor, No. 3 Utah, No. 4 TCU and No. 5 LSU in the AP Poll.
