(KSL News) -- West Nile virus has officially hit Utah this season.
Health officials say they detected the first human case of the virus in a Utah resident from Utah County.
Officials didn't release a name, but they say the person was between the age of 18 and 39-years old.
Officials want to remind everyone to take precautions to avoid mosquito bites. The best way to protect yourself is to use repellents that contain DEET and wear long sleeve shirts and long pants.
