(KSL News) -- A 16 year old girl from Boston died during a hike in San Juan County.
Sheriff's deputies say the girl somehow got separated from her group with Outward Bound, during the Sunday hike. Instructors then began searching for the girl.
They found her body five hours later, near the boundary for Canyonlands National Park. Outward Bound says the girl had plenty of water and supplies to complete the hike and the girl passed a medical screening.
The cause of death is unknown.
The progam says it has not released the girl's name out of respect for her family.
