SARATOGA SPRINGS — A 72-year-old woman was killed in a three-car crash early Tuesday morning, Saratoga Springs police said.

The crash occurred at 136 W. Crossroads Blvd. in Saratoga Springs when a 29-year-old female driver of a Chevy Trailblazer heading west crossed over the center lane, striking the driver's side door of a Cadillac DeVille, police reported. The driver of the Cadillac, Lillian Strickland, 72, of Cedar Fort, was killed on impact.

A Ford Mustang was also struck in the crash. Occupants of the car sustained only minor injuries.

Katie Nielson, 29, Eagle Mountain, was taken to American Fork Hospital in fair condition.

Investigators were working to determine what caused Nielson to travel outside of her lane.

The crash closed state Route 73 between Redwood Road and Crossroads Boulevard Tuesday morning as investigators cleared the scene.
