Witnesses say a car was speeding through the parking lot of the Harmons grocery store off Bangerter Highway when it hit a transformer.

Battalion Chief Mike Ulibarri of the Unified Fire Authority said, "The vehicle was fully engulfed at the time of our arrival. It began arcing and having a high voltage arc from the transformer. We were unable to extinguish at that point."

The people in the car were able to get out, and one person was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Fire crews had to call Rocky Mountain Power to shut off power to the transformer, which also cut power to about 4,000 customers. Crews then put out the flames and power was restored.
