(KSL News) A base jumper found himself in a tight spot after his parachute failed to open.
The man jumped from the Updraft Arch in Grand County. As he was falling about 30 miles per hour, his chute malfunctioned, and he slammed into the side of the cliff. Search and rescue was called in to help him. They found him 310 feet down at the base of the cliff.

Lee Junge, with Grand County Search and Rescue, said, "He was just lying at the base of the cliff. He had an obvious broken leg, but he was doing fine. [He was in] good spirits."
Rescuers had to carry him out a short distance, then a helicopter lifted him to safety. The man suffered a broken leg and a hurt back, but is expected to be OK.
