It's a first in a decade: AAA says fewer Utahns plan to travel a long distance this upcoming Independence Day weekend.
It isn't only about cars. In fact, AAA says 4 percent fewer Utahns plan to fly this weekend.
The association says the credit crunch and the obvious, fuel prices, will keep more people at home.
Sarah Ingebretsen plans to do much of her holiday traveling on two wheels. "I'm going on a long, long bike ride. ... We were going to drive somewhere to go biking, but now we're just going to bike there. We may bike up somewhere and camp and then bike home," she said.
AAA says about 318,000 Utahns plan to travel more than 50 miles by car, a slight drop over last year.
