TAYLORSVILLE — Two roommates used the same knife to stab each other Sunday evening, according to Unified police.

The men, both in their mid-30s, got into some type of argument about 6:45 p.m. at their residence near 4100 South and 2300 West, said Unified Police Lt. Lex Bell.

The altercation became physical when one man pulled out a knife and stabbed his roommate, Bell said. The second man responded by taking the knife away from the man who had just stabbed him and used it to stab him multiple times.

Both men were transported to local hospitals. The first roommate, who originally pulled out the knife, was listed in critical condition, he said. The second man was treated at the hospital and later released.

Neither man was arrested. Bell said possible charges were pending.
