(KSL News) -- Saint George police say record high temperatures are prompting them to pay extra attention to children and pets left in locked cars.
Officers say people leave children and animals unattended in cars on an average of twice a week during the Summer.
They say they'll take reports of the incidents seriously, and break windows of locked cars to rescue children and pets.
Police say once they've had contact with parents and owners, they'll determine if they'll press charges.
