(KSL News) -- A West Jordan citizen jumped in to help an officer arrest a drug suspect.
When the officer tried to pull the suspect over for speeding, the man accelerated, then pulled into a driveway.
The officer approached the car and saw drug paraphernalia.
The two men got into a fight when the officer tried to get the man out of the car.
A person in the neighborhood saw the fight and jumped in to help.
Lt. Dan Gallagher, West Jordan Police Dept. "Generally we try to say no, don't get involved, let us handle it. But again, if an officer's life is in any kind danger, we definitely think very highly of the citizen that would step in an assist us."
The officer and suspect suffered minor injuries in the incident. Police found a variety of narcotics in the car.
