BOUNTIFUL — Police say a father and son working in a garage early Saturday were confronted at gunpoint by a man who demanded their money and wallets.
After a struggle, the gunman fled and later held up a convenience store.
The string of events began at 6:25 a.m. Saturday on Monarch Drive, where the father and son were working in their garage on a home remodeling project.
The gunman ordered the pair to the floor and stuck a gun against one of the men's head, demanding money and a wallet. After a struggle, the gunman fled.
About 20 minutes later, police say the same man entered Maverik at 105 S. 200 West and held up the business.
Police describe the man as dark-complected, possibly Polynesian, between 5 foot 10 and 6 feet tall, and weighing between 220 and 240 pounds. He was wearing a white zippered fleece hoodie.
Anyone with information on the gunman is being urged to contact detective sergeant Troy Killian at 801-298-6000 or by emailing killian@bountifulutah.gov.
