(KSL News) A Utah river will soon be looking a bit cleaner thanks to some volunteers.
They spent the day picking up garbage that's been accumulating along the Jordan River for years.
This is one of several cleanups scheduled this summer and organizers say this is the best turnout they've had yet.
They focused on the area from about 3300 to 4200 South today.
Jeff Salt/ Great Salt Lakekeeper: "We're trying to highlight this part of the river because it's really nice. There's a lot of trees. It's a very secluded area. It really reminds you of what a river used to be like."
There will be several more biggger and smaller cleanups through October.
