(KSL News) Fire investigators have finished their look into what started a big field fire in Cottonwood Heights yesterday. The cause? They're not exactly sure.
The fire threatened about a dozen homes. Several families were evacuated as crews tried to bring the fire under control.
In all, the flames burned nearly 30 acres.
The dry, hot weather mixed with all that cheat grass didn't help the cause.
James Fearnley/ Unified Fire Authority: "We definitely need to look at our fire potential in the valley this year. We could have big problems."
Again, investigators don't know what caused the fire, but want to warn people to be very careful around dry areas this summer.
