COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Cadets from the Air Force Academy say they were provided black market drugs by a fellow cadet who bought them on the Internet and had them shipped to the academy.
The Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1NCCQHc ) three cadets were granted immunity from criminal charges to testify against Nathaniel Penalosa, who is charged with 10 drug crimes, including manufacturing, using and distributing a methamphetamine derivative called "molly."
At Monday's hearing, witnesses accused Penalosa of buying prescription and illicit drugs online and then dealing them.
Penalosa, a former airman who earned the Air Force Achievement Medal, had a sterling reputation at the school until a random inspection of his dorm room last fall uncovered drug residue and possible drug paraphernalia.
The evidence gathered at the hearing will determine if Penalosa will face a court-martial.
