Oil Shale Exploration says it has the technology now to produce 4,000 barrels a day from oil shale, if Congress would let it use more tracts of federal land.
Some congressmen, environmentalists and oil executives say President Bush is too optimistic about oil shale; they say it probably won't give too much, and the technology just isn't ready.
But Oil Shale Exploration's managing director says it has the technology now.
