PROVO — Money magazine released its annual article of college rankings based on the best value for the price of tuition. Colleges were ranked on many factors, including educational quality, affordability and alumni earnings, as well as how well students performed at the school, financial aid and majors the university offers.
Consisting of 736 colleges and universities, the listing features Brigham Young University as tied for 15th position after being ranked ninth in 2014.
Unsurprisingly, Money mentioned that BYU is a church-owned school with its strict code of conduct that all students, even non-members, must follow. The magazine mentioned BYU's honor code as a possible reason for the success of their students:
"The lack of distraction appears to work to students' advantage: 77 percent of students graduate within six years, four points higher than comparable schools."
BYU's cost of education through graduation, $80,988, was the lowest of any college in the top 25. The study also showed that the average BYU alumni income five years after graduation is $51,900.
The top five are Stanford University, Babson College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Princeton University and California Institute of Technology.
Other Utah colleges to make the cut include the University of Utah (127), Utah State University (202) and Westminster College (399).

BYU also came in as the sixth most affordable private college. Westminster College was 35th.
The University of Utah came in as the 48th best public college. Nathan Harker is a sports writing intern currently enrolled at Brigham Young University majoring in broadcast journalism. Nathan can be reached at nathan.harker32@gmail.com or via twitter @nharker3207.
