Marc Giauque reportingThe family of a Sanpete County man whose body was found in a car on I-15 is hoping to find some answers.

When Arthur Glenn Eves didn't show up at his daughter's house, she knew something might be wrong. The 74-year-old had some mental health problems, including some possible dementia.

Sunday, a family friend found Eves' car along I-15 at 800 North. His body was inside.

Daughter Anita Cripps says the vehicle had been tagged by the Utah Highway Patrol. She says the patrolman told them he'd looked inside.

"He said he did that and he saw that there was a map, ‘cause my dad had a map there on the passenger seat, and he said he saw that," Cripps said. But he said he didn't see Eves.

Cripps says he was in good physical health. They think he may have fallen asleep after the car ran out of gas last night, and then succumbed to the daytime heat inside the car.

"We're glad he's OK, that he's happy now, maybe. You know, he isn't so confused anymore and he's in a good place. And we know he loves us and we love him so much," Cripps said.

An autopsy is being performed.
