VICTORIA, Australia — Mug shots are notoriously unflattering, but an Australian man wanted on drug charges was so disgusted by his own photo that he asked police to find a new one.
Daniel Damon, 25, is wanted by Victoria police on drug and traffic-related charges, according to 9 News. The department posted Damon’s mug shot to its Facebook page earlier this week with the hopes someone might recognize him and turn him in.
Turns out the post was seen by the right people — or, rather, person. Officers were surprised when Damon himself quickly replied to the photo.
“Can you use a better photo tho. This is a horrible mug shot,” he wrote.
A witty officer was happy to oblige.
“Hi Daniel, please visit your nearest police station and we’ll arrange for a new photo to be taken,” the reply reads.
While Damon said he was working on turning himself in once he got a lawyer and got “everything organized,” as of Tuesday, he still hadn’t shown up for his new mug shot or arrest, Victoria police told Mashable Australia.
