Mary Richards reportingLeaders of Utah's second-largest city say they're tired of parts of the city looking trashy.

They are swearing in five new code enforcers today. Their goal is to get people to take more pride in their surroundings.

The rules are simple: Grow grass, mow it, don't park on it, and store stuff inside not outside.

Residents say neighbors' tall grass, junky lots and broken windows are lowering their property values.

One enforcer will focus just on business. The city wants businesses to look sharp because many people enter West Valley through commercial areas.

One of the current seven officers focuses just on graffiti.
