SOUTH SALT LAKE — Several people were injured in a multiple-vehicle accident that shut down a part of State Street on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident occurred near 3300 South around 1 p.m., according to South Salt Lake police Sgt. Gary Keller. Three vehicles were involved in the accident and one vehicle rolled onto its side, Keller said.
Several people were injured in the accident and two ambulances were dispatched to the scene. Details about the cause of the accident were not immediately available.
State Street in the area was closed during the accident and officials are asked commuters to take alternate routes. The accident was cleared and lanes were back open a short time later.
