LAS VEGAS (AP) — A new manager is set to take over operations of the Westgate Las Vegas hotel and casino, known for decades as the Las Vegas Hilton and The International.
The Nevada Gaming Commission unanimously approved an application from Paragon Gaming on Thursday to become the off-Strip property's hired casino and hotel manager. Paragon Gaming had recently managed the Riviera Hotel and Casino that closed this month after it was bought by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
Paragon won't be managing the property's timeshare business. That will remain overseen by Westgate executives including Westgate Resorts CEO David Siegel who bought the Las Vegas property last year.
Paragon's Scott Menke says the company aims to boost the property's occupancy rate from about 60 percent to more than 80 percent.
