(KSL News) Yesterday the Deseret News announced unprecedented layoffs: Up to 35 staffers will be let go this summer.
Editor Joe Cannon said the paper has seen a 32-percent decline in revenue since January. It comes not so much from any decrease in circulation, but mostly due to the evaporation of classified ads. They have gone to the Web.
Fred Fogo, a professor of communication at Westminster College, and Ethan Millard, prominent Utah political blogger and co-host of KSL Radio's "The Nighside Project," joined us to discuss the future of newspapers in America in tonight's Talking Point.
