MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The Liberty Bowl is moving to January this season.

Officials said Wednesday the game will be played Jan. 2. It is set to start at 3:20 p.m. EST and will be televised by ESPN.

This marks the third time the Liberty Bowl has taken place on Jan. 2. The Liberty Bowl also had a Jan. 2 date for the 2008 and 2009 seasons, though it typically has been played in late December.

The Liberty Bowl features teams from the Big 12 and Southeastern Conference. The game is sponsored by AutoZone. Texas A&M beat West Virginia 45-37 last season in a game played Dec. 29.
