NEW YORK (AP) — Barrel of Love overcame a stumble at the start to win the $65,000 allowance feature for New York breds by four lengths Wednesday at Belmont Park.
The 2-5 favorite trained by Chad Brown quickly found his footing, and settled into fifth. Javier Castellano angled the 8-year-old gelding five wide at the top of the stretch and he surged to his seventh win in 45 starts.
The time was 1:41.31 for 1 1/16 miles over the firm turf course.
Barrel of Love paid $2.80, $2.40 and $2.10.
Majestic Raffy returned $7.60 and $4.30, and Goodtolook paid $2.80 to show.
