Randall Jeppesen reportingAirlines are doing all they can to try and offset the soaring cost of jet fuel. But a lot of people are cringing at one idea that suggests passengers should pay their ticket price based on their weight.
This idea of airlines charging for weight came from a Bloomberg article where airline insiders said it wasn't out of the question. We are basically airline freight, right?
"I think it's stupid, I really do," one man said.
Another man told us, "I would have to say, in America they're probably going to make a killing because everyone here is overweight."
Of some travelers that just came to Utah, KSL Newsradio only found one who said, "Sure, why not?" He said, "They do it for baggage. I don't see why they shouldn't do it for people on board too."
Interestingly enough, that guy is short and very thin. But it's nearly unanimous: travelers say it's not a good idea.
