NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a former Idaho juvenile corrections nurse, after she was charged with sexual battery of a minor and sexual contact with a juvenile offender. The Idaho Press-Tribune reports that Valerie Lieteau was a nurse at the Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections facility in Nampa. A $500,000 warrant has been issued for her arrest.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Small businesses in a handful of counties in southern Idaho are now eligible to apply for low interest federal loans to help offset the costs of prolonged drought. The U.S. Small Business Administration announced that nonfarm businesses may qualify for loans up to $2 million. The agency director says eligibility will be determined on financial impact of the drought and not on any property damage.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Watching a toothbrush-bristle robot skitter across the table, John Schiff grins and laughs with a childlike fascination. Schiff says he hopes to instill that same enthusiasm in others at the Boise-based used electronics store and education center he founded. Tarrah Elam from Riverstone International School in Boise says the organization fosters problem-solving and innovation through its classes.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Chicago man's search for his birth father has ended with success in Utah. Sixty-year-old Michael Reed met his 80-year-old father, Dennis Fay of Murray, for the first time at Salt Lake City International Airport. The son took a DNA test to learn about his ancestry and through genome sharing came across his birth father's cousin, who led him to Fay.
