LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- A guilty plea has ended a strange case in Cache County where a cow was dragged behind a vehicle and two others were shot.
David A. Baker pleaded guilty to theft, animal cruelty and driving under the influence Wednesday. In the wee hours of Jan. 21, sheriff's deputies spotted the 27-year-old man dragging a cow with his truck.
Cattle owner Roy Ropelato described it as "gruesome." But he says Baker has made amends by paying more than $5,000.
He'll be sentenced July 28.
